Coastal Day Trips from Swakopmund

All our day trips are private tours.  We take a maximum of four people

  •  Cape Cross - Cape fur seals and historic trip
  • Coastal Birding - Un-rushed birding.  I write a blog on my birding activities in Swakopmund called Swakopmund Birding, for more information.  Summer is the best time for birding at the coast.
  • Welwitschia drive and moon landscape - Plants, desert ecology and
  • Tailor made tours

Our day tours are done in a four wheel drive vehicle.  We provide small snakes, soft drinks, water

Tailor made tours - prices will be given when we you book the trip. 

Please note that prices may change.

 Cape Cross excursion - you will be picked up at your hotel in Swakopmund for a morning out to Cape Cross.  We drive north to the Mile 4 salt works where we do  a little birding.  Then on past the town of Henties Bay (we will make a turn through the town on the way up or when returning later,) and stop to see some lichen fields. 

At Cape Cross we will go directly to the fur seals.  The smell here can be rather strong, but we will stay as long as you like.  It's a rather amazing spectacle - more than 80,000 fur seals!

We will also have a look at the dolerite cross, which is the replica of the original cross from the first European landing on the southern part of Africa.

One the way (going or returning) we will stop at a nice spot to have a drinks break.

Price:  NAD 600.00 per person with a maximum of four people travelling together.  Entrance fees included.

Coastal Birding - It doesn't matter if you are an experienced expert or a novice with an interest, our birding excursions are done privately for your group.  We will arrange for you to cover some good spots. 

Snacks and drinks are provided.

Price starts from NAD 500.00 per person

Welwitschia drive and Moon Landscape - This tour has been an attraction for some time.  Come with us to to do the most well known Swakopmund excursion in a private tours.  Tour lasts a whole morning. 

One the way (going or returning) we will stop at a fishing area to have a drinks break.

Price:  NAD 600.00 per person with a maximum of four people travelling together.  Entrance fees included.
